Tecton worked closely with the developer, town zoning officials and tenants to design a plaza that appeals to both business owners and customers. The project met stringent zoning and appearance requirements and maintains the unique branding mandates of both national chains and local retail businesses.

Construction was completed within one year of groundbreaking and the plaza has consistently enjoyed full occupancy.

DESIGN HIGHLIGHTS

• Incorporated period architectural details such as clapboards and natural stone finishes, dormers and cupolas into the design of the new Walgreens and the facade renovations.
• Colorful seasonal landscaping, carefully planned plaza and shop access and ample parking further complement the setting and create a pleasant and convenient shopping experience.
• Met the client’s essential mandate of blending the plaza into the classic New England neighborhood, while still accommodating the branding mandates of the individual tenants.
