After relocating to Blue Back Square in West Hartford, Penwood Real Estate was interested in updating their office to fit their new surroundings. Tecton was tasked with providing design services with the goal of building upon the company’s forward-thinking mindset through the creation of a vibrant, cool environment for current staff, young professionals and potential new hires to thrive in. The newly renovated space excites and energizes with bright, daylight saturated spaces where one can work in the comfort of their own space, pop into a private conference room or work collaboratively in the kitchen/open lounge media space, all with technology right at their fingertips.

DESIGN HIGHLIGHTS

• The atmosphere is young in aesthetic with warm, medium wood tones contrasting the cool neutrals throughout.
• Office entrance opens to a barnboard wall constructed of repurposed redwood from the hanger where Howard Hughes built the Hercules H-4, also known as the “Spruce Goose”, one of Penwood’s most prominent deals.
• A living, moss wall and branding accents provide a strong pop of contrast to accentuate the sleek design in a minimalistic way.
• Glass walls and doors were chosen to create strong visual connections throughout.
