Tecton designed the new Westport Police Station, with the goal of supporting evolving technology requirements and an expanded town and staff population. Westport’s previous police station was built in 1975 and presented numerous size, functionality, accessibility and safety limitations. Tecton worked to amend previously established expectations and budget, and clearly outlined a workable program and alternates.

The single-story facility is designed to blend with the surrounding coastal New England setting and to complement the adjacent Westport Fire Station. The station will support 21st Century policing with functions that were previously lacking, including a sally port for safe prisoner transfer, lockers for men and women, upgraded holding cells and an officer training space.
