Tecton's design team converted a former Saks Fifth Avenue from its 1960s modern-style into an updated mixed-use facility with a traditional style appropriate to its surrounding neighborhood. The Wellness Pavilion is populated by several complementary functions including health & fitness center, physical therapy, welcome center, pharmacy, restaurant and multiple medical offices. Tecton created connections between the building's spaces by adding a new escalator lobby, openings between the lower level and main public space and circular skylights for abundant natural light. Our team collaborated with several professionals in developing the overall design for the complex mix of uses, as well as the interior fit outs with various tenants.

DESIGN HIGHLIGHTS

• Custom marble flooring radiates from circular openings connecting the levels.
• Unique dome skylights flood the building with natural light.
• Houses multiple tenants including a major health club on the lower level of the building, a major investment firm, retail space, a high-end restaurant on the main level, plus a variety of medical office space on the upper level - including a pediatric office, endocrinology clinic, and sleep lab.
• Original 100,000 SF structure was gutted and expanded by 20,000 SF.
